Basic Commands / Lead Training

Tarla does have basic commands which she is good with, she could of course benefit from further training, and working on some of her little issues which she has.

Tarla is walked on a halti and a 2m lead attached to a wheel chair, this will need to be worked on when adopted. So she can be let off and her recall will bring her back when instructed too.

Notes on how the dog reacts to dogs:

Tarla is very mouthy (vocal) when she sees and meets other dogs, we would advise she is the only dog in the household and to work on her socialising when outside. This can be easily done under supervision if you join a local walking club etc.

She will pull towards other dogs, and then gets very vocal which does make other dog owners alittle scared, she has not been close enough to be able to bite...

Notes on how the dog reacts to cats:  We would suggest a cat free home. - never lived with a cat but has chased when in the garden
How the dog reacts to people in general and strangers:  Tarla has a big loud bark and will jump up at you once she firsst meets you - she soon settles down, giving you kisses and enjoys cuddles too. The jumping up needs to be worked on, also the barking at people too, but they are easy issues with soluations.
How the dog reacts to children / limitations with children:

Has been around children from 6yrs onwards - we would advise children are no younger as she is giddy and will knock younger children over without intentionally doing it.

Grooming experience:

Current Location of Dog:

With the owner in the Shropshire area
Medical History/Current medical issues:

Flea'd Due

Wormer Due

Transporting/Riding in a car:   Travels well in the car - no issues
Assessors Notes:

Tarla is a big softie with a big loud bark which does put people off her at times. Her current owner is using a wheel chair and Tarla is tied too it when they are out walking, so when she does see another dog and reacts it is getting alittle uncomfortable for the owner to try and handle her.

Tarla has a big loud bark but when you get to know her she is a lovely girl, very soft and loves to have cuddles from you. She is a typical shepherd where she feels the need to guard and protect her owner, so this will need to be installed in her that it is not always needed.

She does mouth but only slightly so this is something that needs to be worked on, which we can give advice on if need be.

She does always bark at cars when they are passing her, which is another common trait of a shepherd, this does need to be worked on and again we can give information and guidance on this when adopted.
